I believe special education advocacy starts with seeing the whole child, not just an eligibility category, evaluation score, or IEP goal.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Baylor University and have taught in a variety of special education settings, including elementary resource, self-contained classrooms, and Early Childhood Special Education. My experience as an educator gave me a firsthand understanding of the classroom, the complexities of special education programming, and the importance of individualized support that is meaningful to each student.
Today, I bring that educational perspective to my work as a special education advocate. I have experience reading and analyzing educational evaluations, reviewing IEPs and supporting documentation, and helping families understand the information that drives educational decisions.
